The Pokémon Booth at Toy Fair 2006, in addition to new opportunities in product development, was an opportunity to promote our 10th Anniversary and our U.S. mall tour.
While Pokémon still had a presence in the US, recognition had waned over time. Our strategy that year was to have every event support our 10th Anniversary and build up to our video game tournament in New York City's Bryant Park.
Working with a production company to produce the fixtures and graphics, we assembled the booth the day before the show started. The booth featured the four pillars of the Pokémon brand—the video game, television show, movies and trading card game. We commissioned a special statue to be built which featured the new Pokémon from the that year's movie release. The back-wall was composed of a time-line of key events and memorabilia in Pokémon history leading up to the present.
